The third largest city in the U.S., Chicago, Illinois, is a city of world-class status and unsurpassed beauty, drawing visitors from around the globe.
The most spectacular natural attraction is beautiful Lake Michigan. The lakeshore is a summer haven for sunbathers and recreation, with golden beaches, jogging trails, parks, tennis courts, golf and harbors dotted with sailboats, yachts and ships.
Getting Around in Chicago to Bradford Group
A superb highway system and swift commuter railways connect metropolitan Chicago together with beautiful suburban communities and prairie countryside.
The Bradford Group headquarters in Niles, Illinois, is ideally located about twenty-five minutes northwest from downtown Chicago, and five minutes from Interstate 294. Visitors appreciate that one of the world's busiest airports, O'Hare International, is just fifteen minutes away, and Chicago's second airport, Midway, is about forty minutes away.
Climate
Chicago is called the Windy City for a good reason. The steady winds off Lake Michigan swirl through the skyscraper canyons and blow over the Chicago River that winds through the heart of the city.
Chicagoans enjoy the full beauty and fun of all four seasons, with the lake effect taking the edge off the summer heat and winter cold. Snow falls mostly in November through March, greeted with joy by skiers, ice skaters and sledders.
Visitors to Chicago can expect year-average temperatures between 40° and 60°, with more days of sunshine than clouds.
The City
Old and new, continuity and change, defines Chicago. The iron pendant of elevated track—the "L," built to service the Columbian Exposition over a century ago—still circles the city's heart, giving this prestigious district the moniker, "The Loop". The Loop district includes the soaring Sears Tower and the renowned Civic Opera House, skirts the haute couture of the Magnificent Mile shopping district, and overlooks River North where the John Hancock tower presides over fine galleries, superb restaurants and sizzling nightlife.

  • The Art Institute of Chicago houses a world-class collection of Old Masters and impressionist art, while the Museum of Contemporary Art showcases the newest movements, styles, schools and stars on today's art scene
  • The lakefront Museum Campus, consisting of the Field Museum of Natural History, the Adler Planetarium and the John G. Shedd Aquarium are regarded as among the finest of their kind in the world, and together attract more visits annually than any comparable site in Chicago.
Chicago Sports and Entertainment
The celebrated Chicago sports teams—Bears, Cubs, Sox, Bulls, Blackhawks, Wolves and Chicago Fire—play to the crowds in some of the most venerable, yet fully modernized sports arenas in the land.
You can enjoy the city's outstanding theater district, 4-star restaurants, a bevy of clubs and bars, as well as many highly popular events such as the Taste of Chicago, Blues Fest, Jazz Fest and Venetian Night.
Continue your education at some of the top universities in the nation, or simply enrich yourself through visits to the amazing, culturally diverse neighborhoods emanating out from the dynamic downtown area.
Clearly, Chicago is the heart of the stimulating environment that makes this area such a great place to work and play!
