As a key member of our organization, you would report to the Corporate Vice President and General Manager. There is heavy business interaction with inter-department members including, Director of Marketing, Creative Director, Senior Program Managers, and Product Procurement Manager. Key intra-department contacts include, CEO, Vice President, Research and Analysis department, General Counsel, Director of Corporate Licensing, Director of In-House Media Buying Service, and Director of Wholesale Marketing. The duties and responsibilities as the Director of New Business Development will include leading an initiative to create, generate and develop new business opportunities and avenues for the company; generate and explore new ideas and product concepts. Leading the research, marketing, advertising, revenue analysis, and testing of new business and product ideas to determine their true potential. Play a lead role in exploring and developing potential strategic corporate alliances.
The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications: 15+ years of relevant business experience; at least 10 years of direct marketing experience to customers, not wholesale. Experience in giftware, commemorative products, or consumer products a plus, but not mandatory. Strong marketing experience, skills and instincts; understanding of and passion for what makes consumers excited and compelled to buy. Proven track record of creating and driving new business initiatives. Highly creative with a strong business acumen and analytical ability. Ability to lead others. Possess a desire to move into a higher level of executive management and run a business. Must have P&L experience. Successful track record of recruiting professionals in an organization with high standards of performance. Leadership and the ability to source, recruit, develop and challenge, motivate, and retain top-notch professionals. Proven team building and leadership skills, and a track record of working successfully through other professionals to accomplish strategic sales goals. Outstanding oral and written communication skills. Outstanding interpersonal/relationship skills. Technologically competent and able to utilize technology, including spreadsheets, Microsoft Office applications, etc. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is necessary, and a Master's degree in marketing or finance is preferred. Travel is minimal-as needed.
